Aligners

Wearing our clear aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements Dr. Paterno plans out for you. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth and pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life.

Aligners
Attachment- Clear aligner attachments are small, tooth-colored dots or bumps made of composite resin that are temporarily bonded to specific teeth during treatment. They act as anchors or handles, giving the aligners a better grip and enabling the precise force needed to achieve complex tooth movements that would be difficult with aligners alone.

Button- Metal buttons used with clear aligners are small, bondable anchors that provide attachment points for orthodontic elastics (rubber bands), which are crucial for correcting complex bite issues like overbites, underbites, or crossbites. They can also enhance aligner grip for specific tooth movements.
Elastics- Elastic (Rubber Band)- Small rubber band that is used with aligners to apply specific, continuous force to guide teeth and jaws into proper alignment. The effectiveness of elastics depends heavily on patient compliance. Patients are instructed to wear them as prescribed, often full-time (24/7) except when eating or brushing, and replace them multiple times daily, as the tension degrades over time. Inconsistent wear can set back treatment progress, prolonging the overall treatment time.

Cut out hook- A cutout on an aligner, often called a "cutout window" or "precision cut," is a pre-made notch or slit designed for attaching orthodontic elastics. This cutout allows elastics to be hooked onto the aligner, which works in conjunction with a bonded button on a tooth to apply pressure for correcting bite issues.
